Soft Power
b.a.r.e. 11th
Mein Herzensprojekt
b.a.r.e. explores the space between design and reflection, where clothing becomes a form of expression. Rather than presenting fashion as a finished product, the project approaches it as an evolving dialogue shaped by each new generation of designers.
Since 2017, b.a.r.e. has presented its work at Berlin Fashion Week, using the platform to explore contemporary ideas through form, material, and silhouette. Each collection builds on the label’s core values while opening new perspectives and interpretations.
This year’s collection Soft Power reflects on strength from a quieter perspective. Instead of focusing on dominance or visibility, it explores subtle influence expressed through presence, sensitivity, and clarity. The garments suggest that power can also exist in restraint, where calm confidence and thoughtful design create their own impact.
Konzept
Soft Power explores influence that unfolds quietly through presence, authenticity, and inner strength rather than force. The collection celebrates femininity as a balance of sensitivity and confidence, where softness itself becomes a form of power.
As the Couture group, we were particularly inspired by the quiet force of nature. A place that appears gentle and calm, yet holds an immense and undeniable strength. Inspired by this balance, the looks are shaped through delicate fabrics, fluid silhouettes, and translucent layers. Each piece moves between contrasts: fragility and determination, purity and resistance, vulnerability and fearlessness.
Fashion becomes a language of subtle expression. Rather than demanding attention, the looks create a gentle yet lasting presence, moments of elegance, freedom, and power that resonate beyond the surface.
Prozess
To be soft is to be powerful...The Look is the moment.
It explores femininity as a space where elegance, sensitivity, and quiet strength coexist.
The look brings together a transparent mesh body and fluid pink satin, creating a dialogue between vulnerability and grace. The sheer mesh reveals the natural lines of the body, while the soft satin drapes around it like a second skin. Light moves across the surface of the fabric, emphasizing a sense of softness and quiet femininity. Rather than shaping the body, the silhouette follows it, allowing movement, breath, and presence to unfold naturally.
In contrast, a sculptural back fan extends from the back of the dress. This architectural element introduces a different dimension, one that represents strength and presence. Power is often associated with size, solidity, or dominance, whether in nature or in human behavior. Yet power can also exist in subtle forms.
The sculptural fan embodies this idea. Though it appears fragile and translucent, it has the ability to transform and define the entire silhouette simply through its presence.
Soft Power is exactly what this look represents. The quiet ability to influence, to shift perception, and to command attention without force.
Die Fashion Show
